A note on my role
As a doula, I accompany you prenatally, during labor, and postpartum. I draw upon my knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort and information to support you in making informed decisions as they arise during your journey. My role is to also help offer you validation, reassurance, perspective, and resources as you move through your gestation. As your doula, I am working only for you, not for your health provider, other health professionals, or hospitals. It is important to note that as a doula, I do not speak for you or your family in any birthing facility. It is not within my scope to give medical advice. I draw upon cultural and traditional knowledge related to pregnancy and birth. I also offer evidence based perspectives when needed and I facilitate discussions so that you can make medical decisions for yourself.
